This course is designed to review the principles related to effectively planning and hosting organizational events.

Course Level
This course is designed to review the principles related to effectively planning and hosting organizational events. This course will also review the components related to delegating tasks to others and business etiquette.
Targeted learners
This course is applicable for employees that are responsible for planning and coordinating events within an organization.
Learning objectives
  • Plan a complete corporate event, including an agenda, budget, goals, venue, audience, food, and whatever else your client needs
  • Keep your event on budget
  • Design an advertising and marketing plan that includes a comprehensive use of media, take-aways, and/or swag bags
  • Determine whether partners, sponsors, and volunteers can help to make your event unforgettable
  • Create an atmosphere of service that delegates will remember
  • Select speakers and a master of ceremonies to add impact to your event
  • Delegating tasks to others
  • Identify the principles related to business etiquette

  • Online course, totaling approx. 10-12 hours of course material and assignments.
Out-of-scope work
It may be helpful to find video/media material for customer service examples. Several YouTube videos have been employed in this course, however, it is strongly advised to replace these videos with similar media demonstrating appropriate customer service practices like from Chester Hull.

Success Measures
The success of this course will be based on achieving the following:
  • 100% completion of all modules and discussion board.
  • A student score of 80% or higher on all written assignments and quizzes in the course.
  • A student score of 70% or better on the final course exam.
